Estonia’s embassy in Azerbaijan will open in Baku in the autumn of 2026, Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in response to Report’s inquiry.

“Ambassador Tiina Nirk is indeed in Baku and the opening of the Estonian Embassy will take place sometime in the Autumn,” a ministry official said.

In October 2025, during a visit to Baku, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced plans to open an embassy in Azerbaijan in 2026.

Until now, Estonia’s diplomatic mission accredited to Azerbaijan has operated from Ankara, Türkiye.
