The United States has imposed new sanctions on a number of Russian organizations, including the Russian Ground Forces and two departments of the Russian Ministry of Defense, linking them to alleged violations of US domestic nonproliferation legislation concerning Iran, North Korea, and Syria. The US Department of State said.

“On July 24, 2026, the US government imposed measures provided for under Section 3 of the Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Act,” the statement said.

The sanctions list includes the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the ministry’s Directorate for Advanced Inter-Service Research and Special Projects, the Russian Ground Forces, and the 1061st Logistics Support Center.

Restrictions have also been imposed on Gideon Alfa and International Invest Company LLC.

In addition, Russian nationals Andrey Gusev, Andrey Kosolapov, Vladislav Morozik, Aleksandr Prikhodko, and Sergey Tsybarev have been included on the sanctions list.

Under the measures adopted, no US government department or agency will be permitted to purchase goods, technologies, or services from these foreign entities or individuals, or enter into procurement contracts with them.

US departments are also prohibited from providing them with any assistance, selling them defense articles, or issuing relevant licenses.

The restrictions will remain in effect for two years from the date they take effect. Exceptions may be established by a decision of the US Secretary of State.
