A fatal road accident occurred on the new Alat–Astara highway in Azerbaijan’s Salyan district.

According to Report, the driver of a Hyundai Accent traveling from Lankaran to Baku lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

As a result of the accident, the driver, Baku resident Mahir Asadli (born in 1987), and his brother Tahir Asadov (born in 1987) sustained injuries of varying severity. Their mother, Salbi Aliyeva (born in 1962), died at the scene.

The injured were taken to the Salyan District Central Hospital.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
