The situation with export restrictions against Armenia is a problem not only for Armenia but also for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). If this issue is not resolved in the near future, it could become the beginning of the end of the EAEU. According to Armenpress, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement while speaking with journalists after a meeting of the governing council of the Civil Contract party.

“Today, we all recognize that the problem is not in Armenia. The problem is not in Armenia, but in the EAEU, because in reality it turns out that the Eurasian Economic Union is paralyzed and does not function. If this issue is not resolved soon, I predict that this will be the beginning of the end of the EAEU,” Pashinyan said.

Prime Minister Pashinyan also addressed the topic of his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that the sides had reached mutual understanding on a number of issues.

“The most important thing is that the Republic of Armenia has the legitimate right to create alternatives for itself. I told the President of Russia that we have embarked on this path and will follow it, especially now, when the people of the Republic of Armenia have voted for it,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, Armenia must have alternatives on all issues.

“As I said during the election period, I cannot imagine that as a result of our policy we will find ourselves in a situation where the Republic of Armenia has no alternatives. The Republic of Armenia must always have alternatives on all issues. The era of the absence of alternatives has ended. The question here is when this alternative should be implemented,” the Armenian Prime Minister said.
