Firefighters in Turkey have managed to bring all active forest fires under control. Nearly 30 people are suspected of involvement in starting the fires.<\/p>\n
The remaining large-scale forest fires in Turkey have been brought under control, the country\u2019s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumakl\u0131, said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a result of effective operations from the air and on the ground, the fires in the \u00c7ine district of Ayd\u0131n province, the Susurluk district of Bal\u0131kesir province, and the Buca district of \u0130zmir province have been fully brought under control,\u201d Ibrahim Yumakl\u0131 said.<\/p>\n
The minister also noted that since July 29, in less than a week, a total of 314 wildfires have broken out in Turkey. An aerial fleet consisting of 28 aircraft, 119 helicopters and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles was involved in firefighting efforts. More than 5,000 pieces of equipment were deployed by firefighters on the ground.<\/p>\n
According to Justice Minister Ak\u0131n G\u00fcrlek, since June, 29 people have been suspected of deliberately starting fires in 16 provinces.
