In Azerbaijan, administrative offense protocols were drawn up against 2,740 people for the non-payment of alimony in the first half of 2026, with 1,278 of them held administratively liable.

This was reported by the Ministry of Justice in response to an inquiry from Report.

During the same period, materials regarding 116 people were forwarded for criminal prosecution, and criminal cases were initiated against 77 individuals.

Additionally, submissions were prepared to temporarily restrict the right to leave the country for 1,500 individuals due to alimony arrears, resulting in travel bans being temporarily imposed on 1,246 of them.
