Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv and discussed defense and economic cooperation with him.

As Report reports, Zelenskyy said this on his Telegram channel.

“I received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. This is the first time the minister has visited Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. He began his visit in Irpin, where he visited a school, a hospital, and a rehabilitation center that Azerbaijan is supporting.

We are very grateful that, during these difficult days for our country and our people, you found an opportunity to come and support us. Thank you for your solidarity with the Ukrainian people,” he wrote.

Zelenskyy said he informed Bayramov about Russia’s ongoing strikes on Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and Russia’s blocking of grain corridors.

The sides discussed high-level diplomatic contacts, defense cooperation, as well as economic cooperation in the fields of energy, the oil and gas sector, and agriculture.

“I am grateful to Azerbaijan for its support for Ukraine, its energy and humanitarian assistance, as well as for constructive dialogue,” Zelenskyy said.
